As we watch the news, it’s clear that we are a culture under great stress. In times like this, religion and personality intersect in some unique and powerful ways, and Spiritual Care stands at that intersection. This will be an education day to consider concrete and immediate ways that we can provide Spiritual Care in our current climate.
The morning session will be an exploration of prejudice – how dimensions of personality, religiousness, and political ideology influence attitudes toward historically disadvantaged groups. As a community of practice, we’ll discuss practical applications to our spiritual care work in educational and clinical settings.
The afternoon session will focus on Humility and the positive psychology benefits of gratitude, well-being, and perspective taking. Again, as a community of practice, we’ll discuss practical applications to our spiritual care work in educational and clinical settings.
During these sessions, we will have time for Question and Response, and group discussion.
