AAPI Community of Practice
Gatherings at the ACPE Annual Conference
PRE-CONFERENCE
Monday, May 19
Lunch: We have been invited to a luncheon hosted by the International Relations Committee. It is an informative and collaborative discussion about ACPE in the world. Registration required by April 16, 2025.
POST CONFERENCE
Thursday, May 22
Lunch: The conference ends just prior to lunch on Thursday. We will gather for lunch in the hotel for ease of gathering as many of us as possible.
Afternoon: Talk Story, consultations, IPR? This is would be a good time to get to know each other and discuss a variety of topics which might include: our purpose and goals; review the research project findings; seek consultation and/or an IPR? If you have thoughts about how this time together might be more meaningful to you, please share them.
Evening: Dinner and activity: The one thing we know, if we want to do something active and physical like yell, scream, and laugh! Julie has contacted a taiko drumming group. Their fees are a bit out of budget, and we are trying to negotiate with them. Or we might learn each other’s cultural and or folk songs and/or dances.
Friday, May 23
While some of us may need to return home Thursday or early Friday, we are planning for some optional activities. If you are able to stay longer, we also want you to weigh in on how we can be together.
Day: Excursions to any number of places: Minneapolis Institute of Art (has one of the best Asian art collections in the country), Hmong Market Place (Hmong resettlement in the Twin Cities area is the largest urban population in the world.) for shopping and lunch or dinner.
Saturday, May 24
No actives planned. Fly out.
What is included and reimbursable by ACPE?
As many of you know, ACPE reimburses at set rates and items (ie, no alcohol). That information is included in the attachment. Our budget has been approved for the following items:
- 2 nights hotels (Thursday and Friday. ACPE’s rate is half the room rate or up to $125/person/night.)
- 2 breakfasts, lunches, dinners (ACPE’s rates are $20/breakfast, $25/lunch, $40/dinner)
Registration Fee: Because our plans include overnight, ACPE requires us to have a registration fee of $25 per member. Our registration link is below. You must be registered, and pay any appropriate registration. This registration does not include and is not included in the ACPE Annual Conference registration fee.
Reimbursement: You will also need to be registered with ACPE’s reimbursement program and meet their guidelines (limitations and timeline for submission within 30 days) to be reimbursed for hotel and meals. I strongly suggest you get on ACPE reimbursement program as soon as possible.
